The Kampot International Tourism Port Development Project, located in Kampot Province along the Dang Prek tributary in the Teuk Chhou District, is situated approximately 150 km from the capital city of Phnom Penh via National Roadway 03 and 9.3 km from Kampot City. Construction of the KTP, encompassing a site of approximately 40,300 m2 of land (including a 105-meter-long quayside), commenced in 2018 and was largely completed by the end of June 2022.

The Kampot Tourism Port, a pivotal component of the Greater Mekong Subregion Tourism Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth Project, has an estimated total budget of US$9.27 million, financed through a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The initiative aims to enhance cross-border tourism along the Southern Coastal Corridor, stimulate employment, and create income-generating opportunities for local residents and over 100 local businesses. The purpose of the KTP is to establish an additional route for increasing tourism activities, thereby leading to overall economic benefits for the country.
