Mekong River Waterway Improvement Project from Kampong Cham to Kratie

The Kampong Cham to Kratie waterway plays a crucial role in facilitating the movement of goods, agricultural products, and passengers. As part of the Special Programs to Promote Investment in the Four Northeastern Region Provinces of Cambodia (2025-2028), three significant projects will be launched in Kratie province, including the Multi-Purpose Port, Chhlong Tourism Port, and the Agro-Industrial Park. However, sedimentation and seasonal changes in water levels have caused navigation challenges, increased transportation costs, and hindered economic development.
