Announcement Training Workshop on “Legal Framework of Private Sector Financing for PPP Projects”

The Ministry of Economy and Finance, in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), will hold a workshop on “Legal Framework of Private Sector Financing For PPP Projects” and will be presided over by His Excellency Meas Soksensan, Secretary of State, Ministry of Economy and Finance, on behalf of His Excellency Akka Pundit Sopheacha Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance. This training workshop will be held for 4 days, from 27th to 30th  May, 2024,  at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra Hotel, in order to strengthen and build the capacity of human resources, as well as the implementation and development of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Projects to be more efficient and effective, by sharing experiences and knowledge, regarding PPP project management, with a total of 50 technical officials from relevant ministries, institutions, and local legal consulting firms.The training sessions focus on key topics such as 1) Project Cycle Management, 2) Project Financing, 3) Contract Preparation, 4) Discussion on Environment, Society and Governance (ESG) and 5) Project Risk Management. In addition, participants who attend the above training course will receive a training certification, which is prepared by MEF and IFC.
The workshop will be attended by IFC International legal speakers to share experiences to the management as well as civil servants and project implementers directly in the ministries and institutions of the Royal Government of Cambodia and work related to public investment projects through the PPP mechanism in order to gain a better comprehension of the implementation and management of the PPP Project toward best international practices, gain through training from the workshop, and  comply  with the Standard Operating Procedures for PPP Projects, (SOPs for PPP Projects), as well as the existing PPP framework and existing mechanisms to ensure and promote economic and social development.
